Genesis 950 Review

Early November this product was brought to my attention and as requested I decided to try it out. The appeal was simple enough, It is an all purpose cleaner and degreaser meant for even the toughest of stains while also environmentally friendly.

I have to admit, that as much as I love my Rug Dr carpet shampooer, since my toddler has gotten older, more and more stains appear every day. No matter how many rugs I put on my floors to protect them, there is nothing that can stop a very active, almost 2 year old. I try and use my carpet shampooer about every one to two months, but lately it seems that no matter what I do more and more stains are remaining. I certainly do not believe it is the machine which is at fault, because I know and stand by it 100%. I think the real problem I am having is the Rug Dr cleaning formula. It just isn’t holding up to the abuse we put our floors through in everyday life anymore.

So needless to say, even after cleaning my floors once or even twice, I have been left with what I thought were permanent stains. Up until now, I have been dreading the day I move for fear that I might never see even one dime returned to me of our damage deposit.

You couldn’t believe how excited I was when the package was delivered containing this amazing product. Seriously! Who would have thought I would be so excited over a cleaning product?!

This is a highly concentrated cleaner, so of course I started diluting Genesis 950 as per the instructions. I happened to have a spare, brand new dish scrubber ( you know, the ones with the handle and the big plastic bristles) so once I had everything all ready, I immediately took a seat on the floor nearest to my kitchen and dining area. I must have had over thirty tiny little grayish black spots. Some small, some large, and they were EVERYWHERE. One squirt of the diluted formula and a quick scrub, and in seconds the black little spots began disappearing. In about 15 minutes I had cleared all my floors of each and every one of those nasty little eyesores. I was IMPRESSED! I could not believe how easy that was!

And to finish up the job, I diluted Genesis 950 once again as per instructions to run through my carpet shampooer (which it is safe to use in steam cleaning machines, by the way).  I went over the stains one more time for good measure, (not that I needed to) but mostly to fluff my carpet back up so it didn’t still have that worn out balled up look to it. After I was all finished those floors actually looked better than they did the day we moved in. And I only say this because I distinctly remember there being stains right at the edge nearest to the kitchen the day we moved in.  I think I must have been in shock, but better than that, I felt as if a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. So much for worrying about not getting our damage deposit back. I have full faith that as far as my floors are concerned, we won’t be losing any of our hard earned money paying for damage when we leave.

One of the worst stains I had, was actually a quite recent one. I tend to get a bit on the crafty side every now and again and this particular day two months ago I had decided to touch up a bookcase in our bedroom with a can of black “Color Creations” acrylic latex enamel paint. Now, our bedroom floor happens to be one of the cleanest, and completely stain free rooms in our entire apartment, So I’m sure you can imagine how peeved I was when I dropped the lid to the black paint can, paint side down, right in the middle of the floor at the foot of our bed. For two months I had to stare at that and for that entire time I was debating cutting the paint out of the carpet with scissors. But alas, I decided to give Genesis 950 a go at it and to my delightful surprise, it came out! Oh glorious day, the big black ring was gone from my floor!

Enough about my floors, I have one last story to tell. I happen to have a friend with two young kids. There are only two rooms in their entire home which are carpeted, and these happen to be the children’s bedrooms. Since the day that I have known this family, these stains have always been on those floors. Since using Genesis 950 on my own floors, I thought I might offer to test it out on their floors. Another thing about this family, is that they are very earth friendly and very “green”. So I forwarded the info I had received about Genesis 950 to them and they gladly allowed me to use the product in their home. Another thing I should mention, is that they have tried just about every other product there is to get these stains up. They even had professionals come and leave without success. These stains were so bothersome, they were strongly debating hiring a chemclean company to come take a look at the stains. And the worst part about it was that because they had tried almost everything, they were not even optimistic that the stains would ever come up. So one day I came with Genesis 950 in hand along with my carpet shampooer machine ready to tackle their floor. I sprayed, and scrubbed, and sprayed and scrubbed. The stains were coming up! You have no idea how happy they were when they came home to find a spotless floor.

Not only am I sold on this product, but they are too! This is a wonderful product and I will be buying it by the gallon (as long as I am able)
