For those who don’t know me, I am quite the forgetful type, and all too often I am forgetting my laundry in the washing machine, or even in the dryer. I’d have to say this happens at least several times a week if not more. The result it that all my clothes I left in the dryer all end up covered in wrinkles.

I am also a person who hates ironing, so when I heard about the Mister Steamy dryer balls I was eager to see if this could be the solution to my problem. I tested out the dryer balls two separate times and I have to say I was pretty impressed. Those little green balls really did as the advertisement said. All my wrinkles were gone, my shirts looked fresh and new and I didn’t have to do anything but pour a little bit of water and push a button. I didn’t have to lug out the ironing board, or the iron, and I didn’t have them blocking my hallway and taking up all that space. In fact, the Mister Steamy Balls worked so great, I might be able to retire my iron altogether. This was so nice and convenient. The claim made my the Mister Steamy Dryer Balls infomercial states that “your clothes are ready to wear in minutes”, that is certainly not untrue, but I would like to say when I heard that, my impressions was that it would take maybe 5 or 10 minutes. Upon reading the instructions, it says to let your dryer run for a full cycle. So if you are in a rush and trying to get out the door, it might not be as quick as you are hoping.

The Mister Steamy balls were a little bit loud when I first started the machine, almost sounding like a pair of shoes banging around in there. I wouldn’t suggest trying to use them if you have anyone in your household trying to nap, or study, as it can be very disruptive. After about the first 10 minutes or so I did notice they started to quiet down somewhat as the dryer balls had heated up, making the once hard plastic nice and soft. My husband is the type who tends to hang dry many of his shirts so they are constantly covered in wrinkles. I hate it, especially when we are going out to see family or friends. It is just plain looks tacky and it’s embarrassing.

One of the simple benefits is that it is 100% eco friendly vs. ironing and using starch on my clothes. In my personal life, I make a point to try and use as little chemicals as possible. Chemicals stink, they are harmful to our bodies, and they just aren’t natural. Anything that I am able to use around my home that uses nice, pure steam to clean with, I prefer that. Steam is the best alternative to all those nasty, harmful and expensive chemicals and it’s extremely easy to work with, safe and cost effective.
