I bought this about 4 years ago, in 2007 when we didn’t have a vacuum for a short while. For such a small lightweight carpet sweeper, this thing was great and at an affordable cost. Since working in Homecare for 7 years of my life, I especially think this would be an awesome product for elderly. It's small, compact, lightweight, it WORKS GREAT, its super easy to use, and you can fit it just about anywhere. It’s so easy to use, even a small child could use it. One of my favorite things about it was that it was cordless, so you never have to worry about a long cord getting in your way.
Having had three cats at the time I bought the Swivel sweeper, I was in awe of its outstanding performance. This small, simple machine was able to pick up cat litter off the carpet! Even some average vacuums have problems picking up cat litter. Often times they end up shooting it in all directions. Ever have pine needles that stick in your carpet you just cant get out unless you get on your hands and knees and pick them out one by one? This thing was even able to pick up pine needles! pine needles!
Now, as I said, I bought this product about 4 years ago, and since then I have seen the infomercial for the newer model. I didn't really think much could have been improved, but it looks like I was wrong. The new Swivel Sweeper G2 added features include: No touch disposal of waste, the back saving elbow joint, the rubbery gripping handle (ever tip a broom against the wall and it slides and falls down?), and the magnetic hold the handle rod has to the sweeper ( tip sweeper from horizontal to vertical and the sweeper secures to the handle making it even more compact) If I did not own a Dyson Animal Ball, I would definitely get another one of these for the quick small jobs. Its great for food crumbs, small dry food spills, small craft messes like beads or paper trimmings
The reason I do not own this any longer is because the rechargeable battery stopped holding a charge and it kinda stopped working after about 6 months. However, they do have options to purchase additional batteries, ones that are larger and hold a longer charge. That being said, it might have remedied my one problem with the sweeper. I would like to add that because I was using this in lieu of a real vacuum, it likely got more use than it should have being used in a 4 bedroom house. Perhaps I overworked the sweeper

my husband bought me this also as well as for himself my mom and for the campper it works great for all the smaller cleanups instead of pulling out a big vacume cleaner every time we all enjoy and love ours and how easy and fast cleanups are using it
